250 Cakes of St. Louis 4

No. 26 -- Location, Cherokee Business District; Artist, Sophia Dalphias-Brown
Running late again so I will run light on the text. These five photos bring the cake hunt total to 30  only 220 to go. In this series, I especially like No. 26. That particular cake is close to the curb of a very busy intersection so there was no way I was going to step out into the street to take the shot. Because of this it's the first cake photo I've taken with a telephoto lens. I think it worked out  the woman in the foreground gives the whole photo an interesting sense of depth which keeps your eye moving around the scene. On the other hand, I was a little disappointed with No. 27. That cake is the most interesting cake I've come across in front of one of the most interesting locations, The Venice Café. Because of how the cake was angled though,  I couldn't frame the brainy gash and the visual smorgasbord that is the café in the same scene. Ah well, c'est la vie.
